Two Days With No Movement

I'm sorry. This post is about poopoo. You don't have to read it...

I've heard about this problem with kids who are learning to use the potty, but fortunately we didn't have to go through it with Pete. Lulu, however... Rather than break the no-poopoo-in-the-Pull-Up rule or go poopoo in the potty, she has decided to just not go. We put her in a diaper for napping and nighttime. I hoped it would inspire her to get that taken care of when she could, but she just didn't. I don't like that. When she was teeny tiny, an itty bitty baby, just weeks old, she wouldn't poop for like 3 days. A movement was always cause for celebration. My friends thought I was nuts because I actually got excited about changing the dirty diapers (wet was no big deal). So I'm not enjoying this withholding. It makes me nervous.

On the other hand, it's only day 3 of the Training in Earnest, and she broke the no-poopoo-etc. rule today. And we celebrated by changing a stinky Pull-Up and not talking about the rule.

I hear stories like this and wish! something like this would happen to me. We started training our 2-yr-old boy "in earnest" today and let's just say: underwear 4, carpet 1, potty 1. Where does this kid get all these fluids? And btw? One of those underwear messes was a "poopoo."
(I have to use underwear rather than Pull-Ups b/c he equates them with diapers.)

Have hope! We didn't do Pull Ups at all with Pete and she was trained in 5 days. I got so frustrated her first day in panties until I reminded myself that it was just the first day. The second day she started to figure it out. I think it took 3 before she really got it. At least your big boy only got your carpet once. And yay for him for the one time in the potty!!

I think Lulu thinks of Pull Ups like diapers, too. That's why I made the no-poopoo-etc. rule, which has gone by the wayside in favor of pooping at all, for the time being. We may try panties mid-summer...

You must go read my blog, the last couple of posts. RIGHT NOW! Just kidding, but my now 4 year old started holding her poop while we toilet trained and has now stretched out her innards to the point she can't feel the urge to go, soooooo she is now getting lots of raisins, fruit, juice, benefibre and a daily laxative, to empty her out. Once she's empty and her innards return to normal size, she should be able to feel the urge to poop and then be able to go in the toilet. Yep, that was basically everything I said on my blog, so now you don't have to read it. ;)

But yeah, I would definitely try to get her to poop. A year's worth of poopy pants is not something I would wish on anyone! :)
