Not Sure What to Title This

The president of the PTA (remember her?) has nominated me for president. Of the whole world! And all I did was gather contact information for 227 volunteers and build a giant Excel workbook out of it (we don't have access to a database - pun not intended), and then I emailed it to her. Apparently I'm awesome. Who knew?

I love this stuff!

I know I've heard you say that before...
Open Office is a free MS Office type program that includes a free Access type program (Open Base).

Thanks, both of you.

NHB: I'll look into openoffice for next year. I actually glanced at it the other day but didn't really look. One of our fundraising chairs works for MicroSoft and was pushing us to try WorkSpace, but I didn't think that was a good choice. Maybe this will work better...

You ought to also consider a Sharepoint.

I've never understood why people who are doing an outstanding job right where they are have to be pushed to something else - unless they want to do something else. Does the president get to do the Pres-job only or will the member spreadsheet just be added to the pres. duties because MN did such a good job last year no one could possibly take her place. Hence two jobs filled for the 'price' of one. Maybe everyone doesn't mind that approach as much as I do.

Good point, AP. That would bother me too. Rest assured that if MN becomes president of the PTA, something which is incredibly unlikely, the new membership person would have to use my fabulous spreadsheets (or some of their own creation) to do their job.
