Moomie gave me this first sentence.
Nyla sat on the edge of the wall and watched the turtle eating the cat food.
Thank you, Moomie. When we were talking about it, Moomie said that the real question is "Who is Nyla?" (Then I said that to The Grandpa like I thought of it myself...)

Nyla is actually a girl from another planet who has been changed into a cat and marooned on Earth by her diabolically scheming sister. Nyla is pondering her options when the turtle plods into view.
