Recently I've been feeling rejected. By Pete. She doesn't want to do anything with me anymore. Well, sometimes she does, but other times she'll say she wants to and then changes her mind right at the last minute. Like puppy class. Or going to Target. Or making dinner. It makes me a little sad. Aren't little girls supposed to want to hang out with their moms? You know, right up until their moms get all embarrassing and everything?
(Lulu doesn't want to hang out with me either, but that's just because Husbandguy is here all the time and of course she prefers him.)

Aww. I remember when I lost my l'il shopping buddy. My little partner in crime in wasteful spending at Target! ;)
Now, I find, I have to capitalize on the "little moments".
The one thing that we do together that I will miss when it's gone is called "Pirate Biker Stories".
Everyday on the way to school we always see this one fellow who is dressed like a pirate, riding his bike. We make up stories about who he is, what happened to his ship and crew and stuff like that.
The stuff my daughter comes up with cracks me up.
I hope she is always as free and funny as she is now. I don't think I will be able to handle too much teen angst.
Enjoy the precious, fleeting moments.
Did someone put estrogen in my coffee? I am getting all choked up now.
Crap.
Peace - Rene
Rene - I'd love to hear a Pirate Biker Story!
But wait!! does this mean it only gets worse? She's only 6!!
Not to get all Lucy or PhD on you. . . but maybe it's not you. Could she be feeling a bit of the stress of husband guy not working? Maybe she's "nesting"--staying close to home. . .
Nah, 45A. It started before that. I think she's just being 6.
