The Empty Feeder
O Birds!
Where have you gone?
Why have you abandoned me?
It has been a week since I
Filled the seed to overflowing and
Hung the dome-topped cage and
Returned to my kitchen window
To wait for you,
To wait for the empty feeder.
But not like this!
